Dance review: Sadler’s Wells London / Sylvie Guillem at David H. Koch Theater

Nureyev, in his time as director, appointed an exceptional nineteen year-old Paris Opera Ballet dancer Sylvie Guillem ├ętoile, star. Twenty-eight years later she’s touring a program of works she and Sadler’s Wells commissioned from three of the world’s most relevant living ballet choreographers. Her celebration of dancing life was in rehearsal during the tsunami and earthquake in Japan. With deep sympathy she named her production 6000 Miles Away. Read the rest of this entry »
